| | Quote: | Personally, I (Dr. Ivy) like the idea. These are my questions regarding the story? So Azein and his orginal "army" have been wiped out, as described by the "cleansing"? Or has Azien sent a/(a couple of) team(s) to RI to begin the takeover slash conquest of the realworld? The leader(s) of the VG being current espadas and the rest of us being numeros/fracciones. From my understanding of the link is that the fraccion serve the espada directly, not the numeros. So our group make up would be an espada (person with star while we are teamed up) and seven fracciones. Even other sword/damage would thus be considered a fraccion. Or are you just using the titles in a general sense that, a pain dom/rad/heals and shields is merely a "fraccion" who does not have a number where as the numeros are the swords/weapons and clearly have the numbers. Team make up example: Star, person 3, 6, and 7, are damage thus numeros. Person 2, 4, 5, and 8 are support of somesort and thus fracciones.
Generally speaking, i get the direction you are going. with case number one ( star=espada) I don't want that person to feel he or she has to always be the leader. With case 2, i don't want there to be a creativity limit in that, a person wants to make a character: 23-So&so- dark/pain dom is intended to be a numero with support capabities. Similarly with the captains. Squad 4 is support, but there is the title of captain. So espada 8 (ficiton purposes only, i don't have any idea who the real 8 is and what he/she does) can have support capableties, but still be an espada.
I am sorry for the cofusion of my post and wording and such, but after reading the small box with the top 10 and which captain they are fighting (if any), I view the whole "espada" title as the evil image of a "capatain". For all intensive purposes, we all could create numeros with random numbers with random powersets...I am just trying to help add depth/creative thought...so yeah...
Anyway, side notes: I should have a new computer roughly, if not exactly, when a date is established for the new ST is to begin. Someone posted beginging of April(ish) so the arrival date is around then. Um, in regards to the newsletter and blueside, i would not mind applying for a captain positon, i am not sure what is still open; however, i don't think i would want ivy has the captain, becuase she is still human...if i remember the story line correctly, but the next blue ST toon could act as the new captain. So Ivy would be a stand-in for a while.
random thought: The leaders of VG could be ex-espadas that were not powerful enough or whatever and left/exiled. There numbers range from 110-1xx, with the idea that 111- is not a former 11. Ideally 11-99 could not be exiled only killed...if that makes sence, it sounds better in my head. |
sorry for posting in COH forums, but i thought the extra publicity wouldn't hurt... |

| Hehe, I just posted there because I figured more of our members read that thread than this entire site Anyway, here was my original post: | Quote: | With i14 now in open beta, and my lovely closed beta knowledge (yay), I think creating an introductory arc for The Hollow Brigade would nicely cover the questions of "what are we? where did we come from?" I already have something started, and would love people to test it with me, once it's ready.
As far as the theme goes, I think we can make it all up in a much more free-form way than the Guardians of Soul Society. My idea for this ST is this:
We start by playing the intro arc. The gist of the story is, we're escaping from a cleansing of Hueco Mundo by traversing the dimensions for a new haven. We're being pursued constantly.
Those that escaped - Números - Combat specialists, should be our damage dealers and leaders (requiring the Leadership pool, perhaps). Fracción - Support combatants, should have some form of support. Hollow - Just beserk, thoughtless monsters of destruction. No weapons allowed!
I pulled most of this info from this link. I think we can also leave the powersets a little open to interpretation this go around, but try to base them on the powers section in the link I just provided.
We can certainly expand on these ideas as we go, but I think out first ST could/should be the story of the "foundation" of the VG.
What does everyone think about that? Too broad? Does the story idea (playing the founders of the VG) make sense, or is that not focused enough either?
Let me know! |
I like what you posted Ivy. I think it MIGHT be simpler to create a similar structure for the Hollow Brigade with "captains" and their minions... ultimately, but in this particular case, I'm only worried about forming a theme for the ST.
In a lot of ways, the ST (in my head) kinda reflects the state of the VG in general. We're just starting out, no clear hierarchy yet, ranks are more or less fluid and there's a certain hint of confusion all around. This meshes with the general idea that we are all "escaping" the destruction of Aizen and his ilk.
What I was trying to suggest with the Números and Fracción bit was less a suggestion of "who's in charge" or playstyle restrictions and more striving to find a uniting theme for the ST. Fire is a really common interest, so I've thought of making fire and (for example) dark the two uniting "themes" for the ST, and leaving it at that. Or make it more RP-base (which was where my idea came from).
I think, maybe, the powerset combos (of fire and/or dark) are the easiest thematic elements to use, but lack a little bit in story elements. Here's what I definitely want to see:
A uniform appearance (with plenty of room for creativity) for the Espada/Arrancar class.
A uniform look for Hollow (should all at least be completely masked in some way).
Some way to integrate Leadership into the ST (something others have lacked).
If we can expand our ideas from there, that would be GREAT. |

| The uniform jacket makes a good top for an Aizen-style outfit on males, for what that's worth. I'll get a screenshot up of my DM/Invuln brute; what he's wearing isn't perfect but it's not a bad start.
I had an idea earlier, as well: Praetorian-universe (or, for that matter, other-universe generally) shinigami might have very different powers and uniform conventions. I'll probably end up playing with that in the mission architect but it's something we could use for this as well. |

| Oh, and for the record, I'm going to give a Dark/Cold corrupter a try on Test while we futz with the mission architect to see if that's something I'd enjoy for the next ST, since Fire/Dark seems to be the direction we're headed in. |

| I'm looking forward to the new ST. As-far-as the powers go (Fire/Dark) have always been my fave; my primary red side toon is a fire/dark corruptor. Since I've alread done the fire/dark corr I'll need to come up with a new combo that I'll like equaly as well. The beauty of this ST is that I'll always have a great team tp play with as PUGs were less than inspiring during my primary's rise to infamy. Anyway I'll lend any hand I can to help with the new ST.

| Um, i know that this post is going off topic, but my new com just arrived and i am trying to set up cox for the new ST. But i am having some trouble. Do any of you have windows vista? I am trying to download the cox updater, but an error pops up saying that the cohudater.exe (or somthing of this name) won't change its name to cohupdater.prv ( or somthing like that). Can anyone lend an idea of what i need to do? I looked at the boards and am finding nothing. I am not a computer tech person so all the numbers/files are greek to me. According to the posts on the forums, the problems listed are for graphics and my issue does involve graphics. Again, any help would be appreciated. I wanted to ask here before going to the cox forums. Ivy (Edit) Did someone try to pm the other day? I was alerted that i had a pm, but the box/mail system here said that i didn't have one in my inbox. So if someone did try to pm me and are waiting a reply, then i did not get it. |

| Due to family matters, Candice and I can not attend the event tonight. We'll have to catch you guys next week, we may be on and off, but its not going to be serious.. Most likely just logging in characters and getting enhancements. Anyway, have fun and take care!
